Cabin Rentals in Rocky Mountain National Park

Of the 3 million annual visitors who visit Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, most who don't live close by would like to stay in accommodations in or near the Park.

Aside from camping there is only one cabin lodging property inside the Park. These cabin rentals have been run by the same family for more than 60 years. Other cabins in the Park were owned by private families at one time but are now either in ruins or are used by the Park Service for museum exhibits, staff housing and research.

Estes Park and Grand Lake Have Cabins

There are, however, many cabin rentals available in the Estes Park and Grand Lake areas. Both Estes Park and Grand Lake are very nice towns that cater to tourists especially in the summer. Estes Park is larger and more of a year round town than is Grand Lake. You will want to stay in cabins in Estes Park to be closer to Front Range activities and the trails, etc on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Likewise, you will prefer cabins in Grand Lake to be nearer to the west site of the Park. You should know that if you stay in Grand Lake in the winter, you will be more remote from things, yet be closer to skiing in Winter Park.

Some cabins on the Estes Park side are found along the rivers that lead to the two east entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. Other cabins are closer to the town. Cabins on the Grand Lake side of the Park are also found near town as well as by the Lake. In both cases, you'll find cabins that cater to families visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and cabins for couples who will spend a romantic weekend hiking in the Park and then relaxing in a private hot tub outside their cabin.
